Mobile ERP Implementation Strategies Becoming Important

A recent KPMG survey found that more than 60 percent of company executives want better access to mobile device data, which could help them analyze current trends and assist them when making important decisions.
"This survey demonstrates that data and analytics has become a central strategic approach as most companies believe the key to predicting the needs of customers is directly correlated with analysis from all data sources," said Jeanne Johnson, leader of the data and analytics innovation initiative at KPMG.
Enterprise resource planning (ERP) software is an effective tool company decision-makers use. These systems include a variety of capabilities, from tracking sales and customer tendencies to predictive analysis.
In a recent blog, Richard Minney, co-founder of iBE.net, discussed the importance of implementing ERP systems with bring your own device (BYOD) strategies. By doing so, organizations can benefit in a number of ways, particularly with regard to data security.
For instance, BYOD and ERP implementation allows company and IT leaders to control who has access to apps and which security features are used. In addition, mobile solutions like mobile device management enables management to block or wipe data from smartphones, tablets and laptops that are lost or stolen.
