DISYS’ VP Laura Smith Named to Staffing Industry Analysts’ 100 Most Influential Women
November 11, 2016
MCLEAN, Va.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Digital Intelligence Systems, LLC (DISYS) proudly announces that its Vice President of Global Human Resources, Laura Smith, has been listed on Staffing Industry Analysts’ (SIA) 2016 Global Power 100 List of Women in Staffing.
When learning of SIA’s appointment of Ms. Smith, she said, “I’m honored and humbled to receive this recognition and most grateful to DISYS for empowering me to create a strategy that influences change.”
SIA, is known for highlighting and representing women who make significant impacts and are known as true trailblazers within their industries. For a second year, they have shed a spotlight on 100 of the most influential women; 50 from North America and 50 from Europe.
“We are proud of Laura for achieving this honor,” said DISYS President and COO, Maruf Ahmed. “DISYS is fortunate to benefit from her extensive experience and passion. She is an advocate for change and her influence is seen throughout our company.”
Ms. Smith represents more than 25 years of human resources, strategy and professional service experience. She joined DISYS in 2014 and has rolled out innovative programs directly aimed at improving company culture, reducing the turnover, increasing professional development and bettering cohesiveness among employees.
Throughout the company she is known as a “culture curator” who believes culture and open communication greatly contribute to the success of an organization. Empowered by supportive leadership, Ms. Smith recently rolled out the Employee Life Cycle Management Protocol — an extensive program detailing hiring and development, roadmaps to success and the exiting process at DISYS.
When developing this Protocol, Ms. Smith hit the travel trail and visited 17 of DISYS’ 33 offices both in the US and internationally to engage with employees and evaluate the state of the company through the eyes of those on the ground. She then formed a Culture Taskforce at the grassroots level to build an engaging culture where DISYS employees are less likely to leave.
“Her dedication to being an agent of positive change is evident in every undertaking her department tackles,” Maruf Ahmed said. “Having her as a part of our leadership team has made a significant difference within DISYS and we know it will continue.”
