"Cloud computing is a force, reliance on mobile devices is continuing to surge, social networking has gained strength exponentially and our dependence on all of it has never been higher," said Joe Caruso, founder and CEO of Global Digital Forensics.

Caruso suggested that because of the increased emphasis on business continuity, bring your own device initiatives, social networking sites, cloud computing and shared applications will continue to grow over the next 12 months.

Meanwhile, a separate report by IDC projected that mobile solutions, cloud computing, social media and big data analytics will continue to be IT buzzwords in the near future. According to Frank Gens, senior vice president and chief analyst at IDC, these technologies will drive approximately 90 percent of the IT sector's growth between 2013 and 2020.
